Bela on NPR w/ Marian McPartland 1996

Lynn Brakeman posted this on the Flecktones Facebook page. For those of you that have not heard this before, it is really worth a listen. It originally aired in 1996. Really cool. I've always liked Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz, and she is really enthused with the banjo (she only ever equated it with dixieland-ish music). Bela of course is his usual humble, gracious self. A really nice interview. I would have loved to have been in the room that night.

The highlight for me is Marian's reading of "First Light" with Bela - a very special touch she has.

Front-row center at Steel Stacks next Wednesday - third show of the tour. So psyched!
